Why Rigid Box Equipment Selection Starts with a Sample
Understand how board material, insert positions, adhesive and product structure shape equipment selection for rigid box production.
Start with the packaging structure
Rigid box production involves several distinct operations. Two gift boxes may look similar while using different board materials, structures and processing positions. Equipment selection starts by identifying the operation: magnet or metal insert installation, panel joining, double-sided tape application or gluing.
Review materials and processing positions together
For insert installation, board thickness, insert shape, position and quantity all matter. Tape application requires the tape specification, application position and feeding method. Gluing selection depends on the substrate, adhesive and the following operation. A single dimension or machine name does not describe the complete task.
Use samples to explain the process
Finished-product photos explain the appearance. Drawings with dimensions explain the structure. Comparing an unprocessed sample with the finished result shows what the equipment must change. This combination is particularly useful when positioning is complex or materials are unusual.
Place the machine in the production workflow
Selection also considers upstream and downstream operations, target output, batch changes and remaining manual tasks. A machine suited to one operation does not automatically connect to the rest of a line. Describing the process and material flow provides a practical basis for reviewing configuration and layout.
